The American Probation and Parole Association (APPA)
is an international association composed of individuals from the United States and Canada actively involved with adult and juvenile probation, parole, and community-based corrections. Among APPA's services and resources are:
- An Information Clearinghouse. APPA provides a clearinghouse of information on topics related to probation, parole, and community-based corrections to its members.
- Publications. APPA has published a number of monographs on community-based corrections issues and produces a variety of research documents as resources for its membership.
- Publication of a Professional Journal. APPA publishes a professional journal, Perspectives, which contains articles on the latest field research, evaluations of innovative programs, and supervision strategies in the areas of probation, parole, and community-based corrections.
- Annual Training Events. APPA provides national training workshops, symposia, and training institutes throughout the calendar year.
