Information Exchange
The Information Exchange represents CSOM's effort to provide useful, current, and accessible information to the field. The Information Exchange develops and distributes policy and practice briefs on pressing issues; operates this web site; and compiles and makes available information collected from local and state agencies around the country.

Training
CSOM designs and delivers training programs across the country for probation and parole agencies and officers, representatives from other disciplines that share responsibility for sex offender management, and cross-system teams. The project also provides intensive training workshops and tailored seminars at national, regional, and statewide professional conferences. CSOM is developing training curricula on a range of topics that are related to sex offender management. Please refer to the CSOM Training Curricula Home Page for a list of the curricula that are currently available.

Technical Assistance
CSOM provides technical assistance in a variety of forms to support jurisdictions who have demonstrated their commitment to establishing effective management strategies and who want to enhance or explore innovations in the delivery of those strategies. This component of the project creates a constant stream of new information and learning—about the challenges the field is facing and new efforts to address those challenges.

CSOM technical assistance is tailored specifically to the needs of the requestor and is designed and conducted by individuals who have extensive experience working with individuals, agencies, and communities around the country on the enhancement of adult and juvenile sex offender management strategies. Technical assistance includes, but is not limited to: establishing multi-disciplinary collaborative policy making and/or case management teams; strengths and gaps analysis; strategic planning; knowledge and skill development; and expert consultation on a variety of issues related to the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of sex offense cases; sex offender assessment, treatment, and supervision; sex offender reentry; registration and notification; and public education.

Although federal funding has been available in previous years to support qualifying technical assistance requests, at the present time no such resources are available. However, CSOM staff are available to respond to telephone inquiries and will offer referrals to information and other forms of assistance as they may be available. Beyond this, CSOM staff are able to provide assistance on a fee-for-service basis.

Resource Sites
CSOM has identified nineteen jurisdictional, cross-disciplinary teams who have developed innovative sex offender management and supervision techniques. The project is assisting those sites to build their capacity to serve as resources for other jurisdictions who are interested in instituting successful, collaborative supervision programs.

OJP Grant Sites
CSOM provides support to the Office of Justice Programs and those jurisdictions awarded grants through the OJP Sex Offender Management Grant Program. This grant program is designed to assist state and local jurisdictions as they plan to establish comprehensive strategies to manage sex offenders under community supervision, implement such strategies, or enhance their current array of strategies. CSOM is the designated technical assistance provider for OJP's grantees.
